Braised Bok Choi

Ingredients
1 bunch bok choi
3 tbs peanut oil
1 clove garlic, bruised
3 thin slices fresh ginger
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1 tsp sesame oil

Method

  1. Trim and wash bok choi and shake dry. Cut into 5cm lengths.
  2. Heat a wok and add the oil.
  3. Fry garlic and ginger for a few seconds.
  4. Add bok choi and stir-fry for 1 minute on high heat.
  5. Add 3 tablespoons of water (or stock), sugar and salt. Cover and simmer for 3 minutes or until stems are tender but still crisp.
  6. Add sesame oil and toss. Serve immediately.
